The HP Photosmart M537 is silver, 6.0 megapixel digital point and shoot camera. It is pretty typical of the many cameras in its price range with similar features. The Photosmart M537 has a 2.5 inch LCD screen on the back and has some extra features built-in that you won’t find on some other manufacturers. The camera itself is somewhat bland looking but it definitely gets the job done. You can usually find this camera for under $100 based on the store and any digital camera sales that may be going on.

  • Camera Type: Digital Point and Shoot
  • Resolution: 6.0 megapixels

Samsung SC-D372 (SCD372) Review

November 3, 2007 | Leave a Comment

The SC-D372 is Samsung’s lowest priced camcorder on the market today. The Samsung SCD372 is a miniDV video camera that is pretty simple to use. It is among one of the cheapest budget camcorders and one of the most compact. It has a handy 2.7 inch LCD flip out LCD screen that makes shooting video simple. A review of the Samsung SCD-372 find that its low, low price is one of its best features. You won’t find many other name brand camcorders for $175.

Samsung SC-D372 Features & Specifications Review

  • Recording Format: miniDV
  • Screen: 2.7 inch LCD
  • Optical Zoom: 34x
  • Digital Zoom: 1200x
  • Built-in Light: Yes
  • Image Stabilization: Yes
  • Warranty: 1 year
  • Digital Still Camera: No
  • Special Effects: Ball, Sepia, Emboss, Mirror, Mosaic, Pastel, Black & White

Many people are finding that miniDVD and hard drive camcorders are also simpler to transfer video as well. Overall, the SC-D372 is one of the cheapest cameras available so its options are somewhat limited. If you are looking for a very basic, simple to use camcorder, the Samsung SC-D372 is an option to consider.

HP PhotoSmart E337 Review

November 2, 2007 | Leave a Comment

The HP PhotoSmart E337 is a pretty simple and average digital point and shoot camera. It is one of the cheapest digital cameras available today. HP continues to target the lower priced market with basic digital point and shoot cameras that exclude some of the extra features that other manufacturers include at a slightly higher price. The HP PhotoSmart E337 is an all silver camera with 5 megapixel resolution and a rear LCD viewfinder. The PhotoSmart E337 is really inexpensive at only around $80.

HP PhotoSmart E337 Features & Specifications Review

  • Camera Type: Digital Point and Shoot
  • Resolution: 5 megapixels
  • Screen: 1.5 inch LCD
  • Digital Zoom: 5x
  • Optical Zoom: N/A
  • Movie Mode: Yes (records audio)
  • Built-in Memory: 16 MB
  • Memory Type: SD (secure digital)
  • Warranty: 3 months
  • Dimensions: 2.5 inches high, 3.7 inches wide, 1.2 inches deep, 0.4 lbs
  • Shooting Programs: Action, Sunset, Theatre, Landscape, Portrait mode, Night portrait
  • Timer: 10 sec
  • Red Eye Reduction: Yes

The HP PhotoSmart E337 scores some points for being a 5 megapixel camera at only $80 but it is lacking many features. The zoom abilities are very limited, the LCD screen is small compared to other manufacturers and you can find some more advanced features for not much more money. However, if you’re looking for a cheap camera with very basic features, the PhotoSmart E337 will get the job done.

Kodak EasyShare C613 Review

November 1, 2007 | Leave a Comment

The Kodak EasyShare C613 is a 6.2 megapixel digital point and shoot camera. The C613 is fairly compact and fits easily and comfortably in your hand. The EasyShare C613 is an attractive looking camera on the outside with a silver exterior and 2.5 inch LCD on the back. We previously reviewed the Kodak EasyShare C513 and the Easyshare C613 reviews similarly because all the features are the nearly the same except the C613 offers a 6.2 megapixel resolution. The Kodak EasyShare C613 is pretty inexpensive for right around $100.

Kodak EasyShare C613 Features & Specifications Review

  • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot
  • Resolution: 6.2 megapixels
  • LCD Screen: 2.4 inches
  • Digital Zoom: 5x
  • Optical Zoom: 3x
  • Image Stabilization: Yes
  • Movie Mode: Yes, records audio
  • Memory: SD or MMC
  • Built-in Memory: 16 MB
  • Warranty: 1 year
  • Dimensions: 2.6 inches high, 3.6 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep, 4.8 ounces
  • Shooting Modes: Snow, Text, Beach, Flower, Museum, Sunset, Children, Close-up, Landscape, Back light, Sports mode, Portrait Mode, Self-portrait, Night portrait
  • Special Effects: Sepia, Black & White
  • Self Timer: 2 sec, 10 sec
  • Flash: Built-in
  • Connections: USB

Just like the EasyShare C513, the C613 include all the popular and necessary features for the average photographer. For the price, it’s a pretty decent camera. In general quality, it doesn’t quite match up to some more expensive brands like Canon or Sony but you can’t really beat the price. It’s only about $20 more expensive than the C513 but the 6.2 megapixels will result in a better picture. For a sub $100 compact digital camera, the Kodak EasyShare C613 is a pretty good deal.
